Growth, Characterization and Application of 2D Pnictogens - Graphene Heterostructures (Supervisor: D. Eder)

Short bio: Tushar Gupta received his Master in Nanotechnology from Amity University, Greater Noida Campus in 2015. During his Master he volunteered for the 17th IWPSD-2013 (International Workshop on the Physics of the Semiconductor Devices in 2013) organized by the Society for the Semiconductor Devices in partnership with the Amity University.

Summary of the PhD project:
Within my PhD project, we focus on growth, characterization and applications of 2D pnictogens and 2D materials. I had the pleasure to work on materials fabrication (Physical vapor deposition (PVD), liquid phase exfoliation (LPE), mechanical exfoliation and chemical vapor deposition (CVD)) of 2D materials and -based heterostructures. Characterization techniques were high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomically resolved aberration-corrected scanning transmission electronic microscopy (STEM), optical spectroscopy (Raman, UV-vis, photoluminescence), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Photo-catalysis (Hydrogen Evolution Reaction), and crystallographic analysis.

Thoughts on TU-D: TU-D provided contact to the synthesis and characterization techniques I worked on during my PhD.
